Post details: the pigs we call indonesian POST OFFICE
> the pigs we call indonesian POST OFFICE

OK this looks like it's going to turn into a MINI-SERIES, doesn't it? So my apartment's concierge called me to tell me that they got a CALL from the Post Office, saying that there's a package waiting for me and I have to go pick it up. I asked if there's a slip I need to bring to claim my package. Concierge-san said no slip, all they got was a PHONECALL. WTF the post office don't even send SLIPS anymore? Why the heck are they called THE POST OFFICE if all they do is call and ask people to pick up their own stuff instead of DELIVERING IT like what their job description implies???

Fine. No slip. I sent our office errand boy to GO FETCH! I wrote down on a piece of paper the address of the Post Office, which floor and which counter he has to go to, my name, the EMS tracking number, my ID, and some money to pay off some minor bogus "admin fees" ~_~ And within the next hour I keep getting these wild goose chase phonecalls every freakin 5 minutes from my errand boy who got LOST being bounced from counter to counter in the post office. Everytime he called, I would talk to the person who is behind the counter that he's at, and I already feel like repeating broken record:

1ST CALL
Me: EMS.
Post office dude #1: OH!!! EMS!!! It's not at this counter, it's over there... let me show you!

2ND CALL
Me: EMS!!
Post office dude #2: AH!!! EMS!!! This counter is for packages, EMS counter is on the 2nd floor!

3RD CALL
Me: EMS!!!!
Post office dude #3: OH!!! EMS!!! I'll point out where it is to your courier.

Seriously I don't know if the Post Office is just so screwed up or my errand guy is stupid but seriously, my errand guy is pretty smart, well, smarter than average definitely (else we wouldn't have hired him) BUT I KEEP THINKING IT WOULD'VE BEEN SO MUCH EASIER IF HE WAS ACTUALLY HOLDING A SLIP!!! A SLIP THAT THE POST OFFICE NEGLECTED TO SEND BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO LAZY, A SLIP THAT WOULDN'T HAVE SENT MY GUY OFF IN SUCH WILD GOOSE CHASE!!!!

It's not even about being frustrated over NOT BEING ABLE TO GET MY CDs anymore, but it's all about being frustrated about HOW THINGS WORK IN THIS DAMN STUPID COUNTRY!!! And yes, I was enlightened at how much more screwed up they are when my phone started ringing with the 4TH CALL!!! GOOD LORD!!! WHAT THE HELL IS IT NOW?!?!

Errand boy: I'm at the EMS counter now... but erm... the person in charge is no longer around. He went home.

..... (translation: complete and utter speechlessness)

*looks at the clock*

BUT IT'S ONLY 3 PM!!!!

Or at least, if he called and notified at 12:30PM, he should've at least warned us to be there BEFORE 3 PM because it's common practice that people who work in the post office just goof off and knock off TWO HOURS EARLIER THAN THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO.

Unfuckingbelievable, this country is.

Now tell me how can we live in this dunghole they call a country and not have our cumulative lifespan shortened by possibly at least 30 YEARS!!!! RARRRR!!! :v-fire:

Heya, Nere! I feel for your travails with customs. At least my local post office is good about issuing slips. And there's only *one* counter for packages that come in from another country; letters have their own counter.

One just has to bring a little extra money and cross one's fingers when the package is opened for inspection! But so far I've been lucky. There was one time Amazon sent me *one* book in a *sack* and the customs people went, HOLY.

I blinked, and they said, the usual charges for anything in a sack was $$. But since it was only one book, they would charge me $ instead. Nice people!

OMIGOD. I have officially lost faith in Indonesia *AGAIN*.

SEBELUM JAM 3 UDAH PULANG?! Emang masuk kerja jam berapa sih?! Dasar nih petugas-petugas di public service-nya Indo... apa ga bisa lebih profesional/kompeten dikit ya! JAM 3, MAN! Please deh.

I still don't get why they just don't send it off to your address. You're not supposed to have this kind of problem anymore since you already changed your delivery address from your house to your apartment. Why does the PO keep giving you effin' crap like this?! Seriously. O___o;; It's like, this beats the purpose of you changing your address in the first place.

So I take it that you still need to go back to the PO again to retrieve your package. Better do it in the morning lah, before lunch. I have a big suspicion that if you wait until after lunch, the EMS dude at the PO wouldn't return after his break. Today, before I called home to check whether my package has arrived, I tried calling the PO as well. I called about 3 times and there was no answer whatsoever. And it's not even 2 p.m. yet. Sheesh. So, yeah. :\

Good luck.

Yeah and even bigger OMG tadi gue pesenin office boy gue tanya, PERLU BAWA SURAT KUASA NGGAK?!

And setelah ditanya ternyata baru bilang pake OIYA harus bawa SURAT KUASA!!!! WTF!!! Kebayang gak sih if I hadn't told him to ask, he would've returned there tomorrow FOR NOTHING ALL OVER AGAIN!!! And the only reason gue harus buat SURAT KUASA is because THEY DIDNT GIVE ME ANY FREAKIN' SLIP THAT I USUALLY JUST SIGN ON SO I DON'T HAVE TO BIKIN THIS STUPID SURAT KUASA!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!

And YEAH it's like freakin MISSION IMPOSSIBLE just to get someone in the PO to just PICK . UP . THE . DAMN . PHONE!!!!!

I give up on Indonesia. I really give up.

OMG this is sooooo NOT just one officer kali.... XD

But ok here's what. Whatever faith I lost for the post office is NOT based on this one experience alone, I've had late deliveries, "fluctuating" (tawar-able) fines (WTF is that all about!), lost packages, DESTROYED PACKAGES (and they still have the audacity to ask me to come PICK UP my already DESTROYED package) and I've rerouted my incoming mail to different addresses so I've gone through pretty much the same crap service with 3 post offices in 3 different areas.

So yeah, I do think you're lucky, and I hope you stay lucky. And you haven't experienced firsthand having to pick up a completely destroyed package with no one willing to take any responsibility for it so please... don't judge me for being *momentarily* emotional for experiencing YET another dejavu issues over and over again for the umpteenth time because I do have the right to rant in my own space.

Like I said, momentary. My package was successfully picked up and I'm happy today. MOMENTARY RANTS, people. MOMENTARY. This is what my blog is for!

OMG NERE! I so agree with you!!!....Indonesians are so fracked up! No work etchics lah, especially the ones who worked in the gov. probably by 2pm they are already gone!!!! U know in reality all EMS packages should be delivered to our front door, not picking up at the post office (plus has to pay some “fee” also lah, crap banget!). I am actually waiting an EMS package too, sent from the State around the same time, but no sign coming at all! U know EMS Indo to US, only takes 3 days to arrive there!! Dulu nyokap gua sering kirim obat via EMS, and only a week max loh!...but here..everything must go thru the custom!!(“CUSTOM FEES” are money making machine for Pos Indo)...But apparently there are some “people” *look up to previous post* that are somewhat lucky, and feeling very patriotic. I guess for SOME people Indonesian’s stoopidity is a very WONDERFUL FEELING * YIPIIII*

*we should practically blame the whole country for EVERYTHING!!!!*
