Post details: tan by saipan, foundation by wink up
> tan by saipan, foundation by wink up

I was skimming through my tardily-acquired Wink Up 10/2006 last night (I honestly haven't been able to find the time to sit down and read it), but I got to the page where the idols sends messages to each other and...

...saw that Takki had written something!

To the Editors of Wink Up,
In last month's issue my face looks just a bit too white, don't you think?

Oh Takki, you noticed it too? OF COURSE HE DID! How could he not notice it! His face was about 10000% LIGHTER SHADE than his arm! I immediately noticed it when I was flipping through the Wink Up 09/2006 issue with T&T on the cover~ as I was highly anticipating the grand entrance of THE HAWAII x SAIPAN TAN in all its godliness splendor but... ara? Why is he still so fair? XD Especially in this photo:

powdered much?

You'd think that the makeup artist of an idol magazine the caliber of Wink Up, who had been doing this for decades, would have realized that a darker shade foundation would proooobably be a better choice this time? Or maybe it was the lighting? Either way, it made it seem like Takki was lying around in the Saipan sun hadaka but with a ski-mask on! XD

It's kinda funny that Takki actually commented on this bit! So that would mean he checks out all the magazines that he appears in every single month? ...or more like Manager-san goes on a rampage collecting them and delivering them to Takizawa Hideaki's door? Or maybe Yayoi-mama saw the Wink Up and immediately calls her son saying: "Why is your face so ghastly pale while your arm is burnt to crisp?" LOL.

Although, I kinda wanna know exactly what brand of INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH foundation that the Wink Up makeup artists had used that they could successfully transform a burnt-to-crisp Takki back into the pre-Hawaii fair Takki. Erm, not that I need to go any whiter, unless I wanna go dress up as a Japanese ghost for Halloween!

INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH foundation?! You mean the one Sharon Stone used in Hale Berry's 'CATWOMAN'? Gosh, that movie made me laugh coz superheroine's nemesis is a woman with INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH makeup *ROFL*

Anyways, maybe Tackey worked so hard on that tan (since he is, most of the time, fair) that he was a bit disappointed seeing himself still fair on that Wink Up ish. He did not sprawl nor grill and grease himself up with SPF lotion in Hawaii just for fun y'know. Of course, in Takizawa Hideaki's case, its gotta be for show too. Hardly do we see tanned Tackey ^__^

Yeah... and it seems that the tan had faded away somewhat too now, doesn't it! How long ago was Saipan? Like 3 months? Do tans fade away that easily for normal people? I know that there are people who can never maintain a tan coz for some reason... they just turn back to fair/white in within days or a week! LIKE ME!!! I remembered when I was in highschool and college... I was always so happy whenever I got tanned during the summer, it was a nicely bronzed shade until suddenly 4 days later... ARA~ I'M BACK TO NORMAL!!! NANDAYO~ I've accepted reality though... I can never really be naturally tan for too long... maybe takki is like that too XD

Nere,
Reading your blog is just so enjoyable. Thank you for giving us all the joy and fun. Happy to meet you once in Hong Kong. I was not feeling too well at that time suffering from frozen shoulders, stiff neck and numbing hands plus fingers. Otherwise, I could have been crazier and made the evening more enjoyable to you. You are great keeping up with all Takki's news. Hope to see you again one day.

I wish I could say that coz in my case, I get burnt so easily. After I hit the beach, Id be a Rudolf with a red, shiny nose and tanned that is why I opt to go night swimming. Maybe you and Tackey need a sunless tanning spray-on lotion. Just try to spray them on evenly or people might think you have some skin discoloration or something XDDD

hehe. i think it might also be the photoshopping ie image editing and "brightening & contrast" that can make drastic changes to one's appearance on print hehe.. takki is hinting that he hopes to look more tanned?? hehehe.. i love tanned takki so much.. geez, i must have said this many times, but yea, he looks more genki and fresh when he's tanned!!

LOL his comment is so cute. he must have been pouting when he saw that wink up issue, probably thinking something like "mah, I've work so hard to get this tan and you guys photoshop it off me? I have to complain!!" XDD *pets him*

For me, most of the time, i'll be half burned half tanned ^^" and then I'll be back to my regular skin in no time

lol i thought it was just the lighting that made the diff...it makes sense though, if your face is closer to the light, it's gonna look whiter ^___^
takki's so cute, i didn't noticed till you mentioned it nere LOL

lol~ i'm the other way round, nere. i have always been tanned! more so when i was young... born this way la~~ so it's really hard for me to be fair... and if i get even more tanned eg. from exposure in the sun or swimming, i'd remain tanned for ages~~ hard to get back to normal! sigh..

I didn't even notice that! What I did think when I looked at that pic was that it somehow looked as if it wasn't complete without glasses on his nose. ^_^;

I think they check all their appearances. In the mags, there are often these little off-shots where you see them browsing a magazine.
