:v-aright: Shochiku Update 2006/03/23

They'll announce their decision for the 2006/03/25 ichibu at the latest by 11:00am tomorrow on the Shochiku homepage. There's this webpage they set up just for announcement updates regarding Takizawa Enbujou here.

I kinda suddenly think that the fire must've been pppprrrrettty serious ne for them to take this long to decide. I mean, either there must've been quite a damage, or either Shochiku (as the theatre company) are having objections towards the use of fire whereas if they don't use it, will completely compromise the aesthetics of the play? I dunno what's going on in the castle... タッキー、教えて下さいよ! T____T 横山くん！！！

:v-aright: Statement from Shochiku

The Shochiku website updated, they didn't say much aside the cancellation of today's shows. Only profuse apologies and information that people who purchased their tickets for last night's and today's shows at the Shinbashi Enbujou can get refunds at the ticket box. And Family Club members should contact the FC directly. Other than that, they only said that they will try their best to reopen the Enbujou to recommence the shows. Didn't say when. I guess they haven't decided.

Same thing. It also says at the end 「２４日は休演日で、２５日以降の再開は決まっていない。」 On the 24th is an OFF DAY, no shows anyway. But whether or not Shochiku will re-open on the 25th is still undecided.

Cyn just forwarded me the J-web e-mail information about this matter too. Again, only mentioned that last night and today's shows cancelled but no further news on the shows after that. Didn't say it's still on, but didn't say it's cancelled either. I guess they're still evaluating the damages and the condition and re-evaluating safety procedures for the use of fire in the tricks or something. I guess we wait for further news now.

Takki's statement on J-net:

I'm very very sorry that the show was cancelled.
I'm also very sorry for the trouble and worry caused to all the people in the Shinbashi area, and also the audience who came for the first time, and those who travelled from faraway places.
When the show that was commencing smoothly was suddenly stopped, I too was deeply shocked.
I hope and pray that Takizawa Enbujou can reopen as soon as possible.
I'll be looking forward to meet everyone.

Awwwwww Takki.... awwwwwww :( I really can't imagine how horrible he must've felt at that moment :( I feel so bad that something like this had to happen on HIS stageplay! :( Hope they come up with a decision soon, and Takki... you're a Superman dakara no worries!!! :v-thumbsup:

I hope the audience gives the entire cast and staff of Takizawa Enbujou a very enthusiastic standing ovation :v-clap: when the show re-opens!
